A species of small tree shrub that is native to our area and it is now grown in orchards for commercial purposes. The fruit of this tree shrub is called a Saskatoon berry, it has been used in pemmican, pies, jams, wines, cider, beers, and in a dried form for cereals, trail mix and other snack foods.

The city where I live is named after this tree (Saskatoon) and this name originates from the Cree word for the berry, “misaskwatomina”.

The Saskatoon berry caricatures depicted on my pages are fictitious and do not represent any actual berry, any resemblance to any berry (either living or dead) is purely coincidental.
